Tribes in the U.S. are Suffering from Severe Impacts of Climate Change
Climate change disproportionately impacts Indigenous tribes in the United States, who often lack the resources to respond effectively. Tribal climate camps, which have been held since 2016 and are organized by the Affiliated Tribes of Northwest Indians, offer a vital training ground and community-building space for Indigenous communities. These camps provide a platform for knowledge-sharing between tribes, help them access federal funds to combat climate change, and encourage the revival of cultural practices that promote resilience in the face of climate change.
