Poor Air Quality Linked to Osteoporosis
Air pollution exposure has been linked to osteoporosis, according to a new study published in the Lancet. Nitrogen oxides have been found to have the biggest impact on bone strength, with regular exposure causing bones to deteriorate twice as fast as natural aging processes. While it is commonly known that air pollution affects lung and heart health, this new evidence suggests that its negative health effects extend beyond the cardiorespiratory system.
