California Could Soon Be Welcoming Solar Powered High Speed Trains
The California High-Speed Rail Authority has announced that the state’s long-awaited high-speed train project will be fully solar-powered. To power the train, 44 megawatts of energy will be required, theoretically generated by 552 acres of solar panels. This decision aligns with the project’s initial promise as an environmentally friendly alternative to highways and flights, aiming to address criticisms about its cost and environmental impact.
